How to get pictures screen saver to fetch latest pictures while running?

I'm using the built-in photos screen saver in collage mode with it getting photos from a folder I chose. While the screen saver is running I'd like to upload (FTP) photos to the folder that the screen saver is pointed to. However, I'm noticing that the pictures the screensaver is displaying doesn't get updated after I upload photos while it's running and it only shows photos that were in the directory at the time screensaver was invoked.

Is there a way that I can upload (FTP) photos to the directory the screen saver is pointed to and have the screensaver get the latest photos without having to start and stop the screen saver?
