Just got a 500Gb TC along with a very pretty iMac.
I have followed the instructions and been on the phone to the local apple folk but can't get the white box to back up.
The TC is now linked to a netgear router by ethernet cable as suggested by the local apple folk.
I have good internet,
the mac says the TC is working and reports no problems.
When I try to back up it reports "the back up image cannot be created"
When I look at it from Time machine it tells me the storage location for time machine backup can't be found..
It was the same when I had a direct ethernet link to the TC and when I used airport.
I can't firewire link to the TC as it doesn't have a firewire port.
It must be a setting somewhere but I am a bit of a mac novice and I can't find
