Is there a theft software available for apple desktop?

I recently purchased an Apple desktop. I know there are theft recovery for iPhone and MacBooks, but don't know about desktops.

Can someone advice as to any software available in case I have my desktop stolen, maybe even the one you consider the best and is there any which won't erase with a system reset.

Most of the same recovery software that can be installed on Mac portable computers can likewise be installed on an iMac desktop. If you live in a high theft area, make sure you encrypt the data on your iMac (Filevault 2 or other software). Buy separate scheduled insurance if your home owner's policy doesn't cover it or the deductible is too high.
