This is my first post, so go easy on me, please.
I'm trying to repair my hard drive, but the option isn't available. I've tried the "Verify Disk" button, but when I do the error message comes up saying:
Verifying volume “Hard Drive”
Performing live verification.
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
Invalid volume file count
(It should be 733027 instead of 733036)
Invalid volume directory count
(It should be 185496 instead of 185487)
The volume Hard Drive needs to be repaired.
Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed.
I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8. I have no idea what to do.
I guess I should go into why I'm trying to repair the disk in the first place:
I want to partition my drive so that I can install Windows via Bootcamp. I tried to partition it, but it said that I couldn't because I had to repair the disk.
Any and all suggestions are much appreciated!
