hardware vs cost

Hi all,

I use a macbook. I can't help to recognise that for the same hardware specificiation, you can get it cheaper on other laptop. I have to say I love my mac. But I want to justify this higher in cost. So i have two questions:

  • Besides mac having its unique product design and software. What other reasons justify a higher price on mac product?
  • Is the hardware entirely the same ? why need to do Hackintosh to run mac os x on a normal PC? Am I missing something about mac hardware?
