She needs a Mac for uni for Sound Engineering TO RUN LOGIC! And be able to run a game or two..
Requirements:
Lots of RAM
Lots of HDD Space
DVD+-RW Drive
Fast processor, pref. Intel
Lots of USB & Firewire ports (Inc. Firewire 800)
Capable of upgrading to the next operating system after Snow Leopard.

Whether it's a tower and a screen seperate or an all-in-one she doesn't mind, just not a notebook.

£1000 Budget!

Cheers

Are we talking new or used?

If new...and if your friend can scrape together an extra £169...this would be one awesome choice:

Refurbished iMac 27-inch 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Apple Store (U.K.)

If she absolutely positively cannot spend more than £1000...then this would be a good choice:

Refurbished iMac 21.5-inch 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - Apple Store (U.K.)

If we're talking a used computer. It really depends on what is available for sale at the time your friend is ready to spend the money.

HTH,

- Nick
