Best external hard drive?

Hey all I want to back up my iMac and am not sure what EHD to buy. I need at least 500 GB and want to utilize the firewire 800 port.

I also wanted the nice speeds of a fw800 ... decided on a MyBook Studio 1Tb. Although that was about 6 months ago :)

Hasn't let me down so far.

For some years now I have used LaCie EHDs. They come in all sizes from 160GB up to 2TB with everything in between (including 500GB).

The "Rugged" range is compact and very sturdy, easily transportable as well. I've never ever had a problem with LaCie products.

NB I have no shares in the company nor any connection with it at all. Just my experience.
