I have a G5 single proc (dual core) 2.3 tower.
It takes ddr2 pc4200 ram. I had some faster ddr2 sticks from a PC that I wasn't using. I have always been able to put faster ram in if its the same type and have it throttle down to the correct speed.
But these throttle down to: PC2-3200-288 when I check the system ???
Anyone know why this is? And should I use them.... it seems to run ok.
Might this be causing all my ram to run at this speed ?
Systems shows ....
2.5 gig at PC2-4200-444 (the proper ram at correct speed)
3.0 gig at PC@-3200-288 (the faster ram)
What do you think, am I better off with the 5.5 gigs as shown above?
Or should I go back to the 2.5 gig of correct ram ??
Thanks
