forgot word password

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this appears stupid but I have put together a document in word and locked it for safety and now cannot think of the password having tried about 30 different options!


Does anyone know how I can view the document or reset/recover my password? I am using Word 2008 OS X 10.6.4

There are a few password recovery software downloads out there, mainly for windows-based PCs though, although if you can transfer the file to a Windows PC then get a freeware password recovery that actually works then try that.
Other than that i'm out of ideas, seems the password function has worked TOO well lol

Thanks for your reply - unfortunately I have no access to a pc as everyone I know uses Macs - including my whole office and my wife's office!!

Then you're out of luck. There is no password recovery software that I know of for OS X. As suggested by the previous reply, find a PC and transfer the file to it and then download this.
