• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have a large collection of videos i need to batch convert their file types so itunes can read them. The videos vary in aspect ratios and quality. How can I change all these videos to let say '.mov' but keeping the same aspect ratios from each file?

Thank you

The best way to do this is to use a program called FFmpegX. This program will allow you to do just that, and not has batch processing as a built-in feature, a bit of a hassle to install, but it's free.

I just used compressor, takes a bit of time but you can always just walk away and have a nap.

That would be really cool if I had a grand :Grimmace: to drop on some software that I will never use in any other way... lol.

I wish I could use that program, without using FCS :(

Yeah, that is true. I'll do some digging for you and see if I can find any program like it that is easy to use.

with the release of the new handbrake today, you might want to give it a try... it's free.
