New mac user for about a month now, on my win pc, seemed like I had all types of programs and icon's to start them, what are some of the better/useful apps for a mac. Dont do publishing or anything like that. just my desktop looks bored!!!! lol... Dennis

Have you looked at the stuff that comes with the OS install (desktop patterns for example)?
If you do an internet search...there are LOTS of websites with free desktop patterns & photos to use as a desktop.

Are you talking about the app icons that are in your dock at the bottom of the screen? There are various apps for changing the appearance of those icons. I just can't think of any of the names at the moment.
