Hi, I have been looking for a solution to my problem, and finally just feel the need to ask on this forum. I use a "My Book" for storage. Now the problem is that when I want to search the "My Book" I cant select (Search the current folder) It always reverts to "search this Mac" as soon as I type in the searched topic. Can anyone help me with this?
I go to (finder) (Preferences) then (Advanced) for selecting the area to be searched, and it never works.

Thanks,
Rick

System Preferences - Spotlight - Privacy
Drag the hard drive icon into the list, hit ok
Now go back in and use the minus button to remove the drive you just added

This will force spotlight to re-index the drive.

This often happens with drives formatted as NTFS - not sure if yours is though
