Blue Screen

Hello,

I have aquired a G3 PowerMac. Very accient technology I know, but it should be more then capable of what I am wanting to do.

Here is the problem, when I turn it on it boots up and does the OS X entrey screen but then just goes to a plain blue screen, I can see the mouse cursor move around it but thats it, no icons or anything.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

That happened once to me with tiger, the only thing that fixed was a reinstall of panther. I checked the apple weebsite, and it appears it also may occur if you have the wrong display drivers, which a reinstall should also fix.
