Hey!
I am using a Mac book, 10.4.11.
I have a problem with my external HD which as ive understood so far many ppl had troubles with.
THe problem is that whenever im using the hard drive and try to transfer files to it, there is an error -36, and sometimes -50, and sometimes that the name of the file is too long and cant be transferred or something... I have tried partition it to this apple variant, I have used application->utilities->terminal with the codes cp -R and dot_clean, but nothing seems to work... is it always gonna be like this???
How can i reboot the external? Do you have any other suggestions of how to do?.

Thank you for your help!

It sounds like that external hard drive may be failing. Use Disk Utility to verify and repair the drive. If it can't be seen or won't verify, it may time to buy a new drive.

Do you know what format it's using; FAT-32?, NTFS?, HFS+?

Regards.
