Spaces on the Dock

Am recent convert to Mac from Dell and so far so good but may have done a bad thing? I'd like to use Spaces. Managed to delete it from the Dock although it does show in the menu bar. Can someone pls say how to restore the Spaces icon to the Dock? Sorry to be such a newbie.

Go to your Applications folder, locate Spaces, and drag it down to the Dock.
