Folks,

I'm trying to download Skype onto the laptop here this evening and hitting some trouble (hitting the same trouble in downloading another application also) just wondering if anyone knows where I can rectify the problem...

When I click to download the file (Skype_2.8.0.722.dmg) it saves onto the desktop okay, but when I click it nothing happens at all....Using a MacBook, Mac OS X 10.4.11

Any ideas what's going wrong and how I can fix the problem?

Are you downloading it from here?

Works fine on my machine. When I double click the dmg file it opens to show the skype file and instructions to drag it to the application folder.

Try downloading it again. You could have some corruption in the download and also to the other app you're trying to obtain.

Regards.
