install firmware

just bought a macbook air. it needs a firmware update to instal maverick. Went to the app store as instructed and nothing there. Can one advise me how else to get this update

MacBook Air Flash Storage Firmware Update 1.1. Click on the Updates button in the Mac App Store to install the update.

Never really been to the app store so am a bit lost.

There's an update tab at the top. Click that and any updates should be listed there.

Thanks for your reply. Went to the app store and could not find any button typed. updates and then maverick and still nothing. Lost now

Download the update from here. It's not available from the Mac App store.

In the end I did google it and came up with something similar. Installed now. many thanks to both of you
