I was wondering, if I back-up/transfer my iTunes to an external hard drive, can I delete the music saved on my laptop in order to clear up space, or should I leave it?

You can if you like, one of the main reasons for getting an external hard drive! ;p

But always good to keep backup just in case.

think: if you delete the music on your laptop, could you then describe the music on your external HDD truly a backup? What if your external HDD crashes?
