Mac windows messenger help

Hi,

Having using windows previously before Mac using MSN messenger when I wanted to hide what my contacts have typed for privacy I could press control and space bar and it would hide all msn until I opened it up again.

I have looked and people say that their is no "windows plus" add on for macintosh and that they never will be. Question is, how can I hide the text - notifications from contacts. I have tried alt M but it does close it but when a contact messages it automatically opens back up.

Hi I think the closest you will get is Adium if it's just text, amsn if you are looking to use webcam.. They both have a number of addons, both are free.
