2011 Office for Mac

Just bought a version of Office 2011 for Mac the 'Home and Business Version'. Would appreciate some help installing same; do I have to uninstall my 2008 Office or install right over it? Will all my settings change?
I'm using a late '09 IMac now with 16 G Ram.

I didn't have 2008 installed when I installed Office 2011 so I wasn't sure of the answer. After a little searching I found this document, which should answer your questions.

Thread moved to better location. MS Office 2011 is not an "Other Hardware or Peripheral".

Microsoft advises that both Office 2008 and 2011 can co-exist on the same machine. Personally, I would remove Office 2008 first using the uninstaller and then install Office 2011. All your documents and templates will remain and not be removed when uninstalling 2008.

Do not attempt to use the 2008 uninstaller if you have already installed 2011 as it may remove some components of 2011 that are needed.

Of course, if you have both installed and only want 2011, you could uninstall both and reinstall 2011.

Thanks to all for the advice, since I have both installed and have a plenty of room, looks like both will remain.

On another note, will I not be able to remove commands from the toolbars as I was in 2008? IE; flush right and simplify add rows and delete rows?

Hey! If you figure that out, post back. I'd actually like to add a command or two as well. The "ribbon" takes up so much space. I would love to delete all the things I never use. I just haven't taken the time to investigate it much. I don't have that luxury right now.

I did figure it out!
Click 'View' and click Toolbars, then 'Customize Toolbars'. One choice is Toolbars and the other is Commands, open Commands. Find the commands you want to have in the top Toolbar above the Ribbon and drag them to it any where you want them. So now you have duplicates of the Ribbon Commands and you can close the Ribbon with arrow on the right side.
To remove unwanted Command Icons, just click on the Command with this drop-down in place, drag them into the drop-down and they are History!
