Monitor Adapter for MacBook Air

I have a Sony Vaio Monitor I am trying to find an adapter for for my MacBook Air.

Do you know what kind of port this is?

If the Sony Vaio monitor is VGA then you need this
Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter - Apple Store (Australia)

If it is DVI then you need this
Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter - Apple Store (Australia)

The cable in the photo is a DVI cable (DVI-D Single Link to be precise).

With the new MB Air, you would need the 2nd adapter linked above.

Thank you for your feedback. So...with the DVI-D Single link, can I still use the regular DVI adapter displayed in funkdabeat's post although there is that space in between the two sets of holes?

Yes, the female end of all DVI-D connectors will be like that so that either the single link or dual link cable will plug into it.

(Although, the DVI-D dual link cable will only work in single link mode with that adapter.)
