I'll be purchasing a new iMac G5 in Feburary, hopefully. Will there be new models by then? Also.. Is AppleCare worth the extra cash? If so, would I have to purchase it with the machine straight away?

I don't know about apple care. If you are clumsy and willing to spend extra, then go for it. Personally, i woulnd't get it.
I doubt they will have new iMac G5 models by february... they just came out a couple months ago. Maybe wait till May till they release something new? Just a guess..
