9 or 9.5mm

I have a white Macbook here with a dead HDD.
I have read conflicting info on the size of the drive. Some posts have said 9mm max some have said 9.5mm max. So which is it?
If its 9.5mm I have loads in the office. If not, shopping I go on the way in, in the morning.

I just upgraded mine to a WD 5400rpm 9mm—I'm not 100% sure you couldn't get a 9.5mm one in there, but that's what the techs gave me and put in. I'd imagine if you have 9.5mm ones laying around you could just try putting one in—It's not too difficult to get the HDD out of the case.

It's 9.5mm. There is no such thing as a 9mm laptop drive. Laptop drives heights are available as follows: 8.5mm, 9.5mm, 12mm, 17mm, and 19mm.

Just make sure it's an SATA drive and you're set.

I had never seen 9mm but after reading it here many times I thought it may be an apple specific design.
