Out-of-contract iPhone unlocked?

I paid the fee to get my iPhone 4s out of contract to get the 5, is the 4s now unlocked?
I was on Verizon.

PLEASE I NEED AN ANSWER QUICKLY!

When you activate the 5, it will automatically put the 4s out of contract. BUt you still have to get your carrier to send the request to Apple and then you'll get an email and then you'll open iTunes and reset the 4s to factory settings. When that's done, you should get a message on the screen that says it has been unlocked.

That's essentially the process I went through with my iPhone 4 when I bought my 5 on AT&T. Call VZW to verify the process, but I'm sure it's similar.
