Hi,
My macbook pro ejects some movies dvd's. it's a macbook pro 3,1.

It makes sounds and appears to be doing something then it ejects the DVD without any error message. this dvd's play on other computers and dvd players.

the dvd's (dvd-r) are not regionalised, they were created on other computers and dvd recorders. but it will play commerical dvd's.

the macbook pro will read blank dvd's and burn them as well as reading data dvd-r.

it reads cd's.

i have tried the apple+option+P+R reset.

Any ideas?

Try a different media brand. I also try to avoid using DVD-R and instead buy DVD+R. I know that the drive should be able to utilize both, but have found that the -R media for some reason do not work as well.

Regards.
