I just downloaded ClamXav 2.0.6 for mac OSX. Every time i trys to start the program it ask me to update for new virus definitions. Then I click on update now. 2 sec later it ask me again. I click update now, again, and it appears again.
I have tried to reboot and reinstall, but nothing helps
Any ideas?

Have you repaired permissions and did you install the engine as an admin?

Now trash it as recommended. There are no viruses for Mac OS X. Good safe browsing practices is the best preventative measure.

I don't agree with you as I run clamXav myself and there are very good reasons to do so depending on the environment in which you work with your Mac. Blanket "you never need a virus scanner" is not really the best approach.

Author's lack of support makes it very much a doubtful application. See the end of his web page under 'Freindly Backup Reminder':-
