I am such a n00b. This is driving me nucking futs. ;)

I have selected all of the files (using Command-A) in my Downloads directory, as per this screenshot.

All I want to do is deselect the Resume – binarysmurf document. I have read online that if I Command-click on the file it will deselect. This is not working.

What am I doing wrong? Please tell me :)

That is strange, since this works for me, I can select all files with CMD+A and then deselect with CMD+click as you've read..

This is on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2..

I've tried Command-click with both the magic mouse and a USB two-button mouse. Command-click does work, just not consistently. Obviously, I'm clicking it wrong. :) Thanks for your help !

(Also on 10.8.2)

Hmm, I didn't know about CMD+SHIFT+click, that's cool..at least for me, either way works just the same..

I booted into my Dad's account, and Command-click DID work as expected, so...

It turns out I was running a third party utility (Hyperdock) that over-rode the default setting. I changed a few settings in HD and all works as it should.

Thanks for the input. :)
