macbook pro 15 late 2011 heats up and freezes

Help! I just bought a macbook pro 15" late 2011 2.2 edition and it is freezing every hour. I just bought it this morning and am afraid because i have bought it from a non-apple (yet authorized mac dealer), that I cannot return it.
I don't know much about computers but I know that for BASIC usage, and zero installs, this should not be the case with a machine of the nature.
Also, the computer gets extremely HOT in no time. is the newer macbook pro any better in regards to freezing and heating? thank you in advance.

Return it to where you bought it from. That shoudn't be happening with a new machine. All Apple computers are warranted for one year from date of purchase when bought new.
