I'm quite new to macbook, i just buy my macbook 2 days back. I want to know what is the best method to protect the macbook battery
1) disconnected power cable just after fully charged
or
2) continue plug the machine even though battery is fully charged (if I do this, is it overcharging the battery)

please tell me, thanks.

I've had my 13" MacBook pro for 2 years now, it's pretty much connected all the time and I've never noticed it becoming very hot. It's warmish but not hot

It wont hurt to leave it plugged in. To help retain/extend the life of your battery, let it go down to the red level about once per month, and then do a full recharge.
