iSight Camera

Just out of curiosity, why is it that the iSight camera is off-center (above center), in the clear aperture of the black glass on my iMac?

Not quite sure what you mean. Are you asking why it's pointed down?

I meant that the little camera lens and its conical light baffle are mounted off-center in the the circular glass window it is behind. Apparently this is the standard iMac camera mounting design. If you look at macbook pros, the built-in webcams do not look like this.

There must be an advantage to doing this by shielding from overhead lights. I don't think the camera is actually angled down very much.
