IPOD battery life

Can someone help me out here?

I have had my ipod for a few days, when i got it i fully charged it and then transfered all my songs. Since then, whenever i use it the battery bar seems to drop very fast. I havent gone all the way to empty, but it drops to about half power in about an hour. Is this normal? Because i was told the battery should last 7+ hours

You should try to see if any of the extra features like alarm clock and backlight are on, if they are turn them off because I think they drain the battery a bit. Also, keep in mind that if you're constantly shuffling through the menus it drains more battery life because the hard drive is being accessed. If these tips don't help and the battery still drops very quickly you should definitely get in touch with support.
