Hi There,

umm, so, I"m using Lion and have had a kernel panic issue - I can boot in safe mode, or single user but every time I boot normally, it panics and freezes. I'm not really advanced enough to figure out what I need to fix. I'd really appreciate a steer on this.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Ben

There's quite a few discussions in the Apple forums and elsewhere regarding kernel panics attributed to the org.voodoo.driver.VoodooHDA. It appears that's what is causing your kernel panics.

Booting in safe mode bypasses that driver, thus, no kernel panic. I'm not familiar with that driver but it appears to be used for audio. Can you remove it and see if that resolves it? You will have to remove the driver when in safe mode.

Thanks for the help - I figured it was voodoo but I dont know how to remove the driver - I recently installed VMware and that changes the voodoo kernel, I think it's that which has been corrupted but I don't know how to change or reinstall the voodoo kernel.

Am trying the 10.7.2 combined update from apple. I might get lucky
