Macbook Pro 'other' category problem

A few days ago I checked my Macbook Pro's memory and it was surely less than half...

Today I checked it again and it has 190Gigs of Other memory?!

What is the other memory & why is it taking so much of my memory? My Mac is starting to run slow now? Is there a way I can clean it up?

YIMMV, but I have found this to be rectified by a full reboot. I can find NO SOURCE that reliable tells us what the nefarious "other" is, on a Mac or iPhone or iPod or otherwise. I wish I knew what the HECK it was, I don't, but for me when it gets large I hard boot, and it drastically reduces.
