I download songs using Limewire in mp3 format--I'm not sure whether it's a recent problem or not since my macbook is pretty new--and there's this weird buzzing noise in the left speaker/headphone.

Does anyone know why that is?
Doesn't Macintosh support that type of audio?

Additional question on VIDEO: I also tried downloading quite a few movies using torrents by Azerus (a.k.a. Vuze) in avi, mov or mkv format and NOTHING will play it... not even VLC.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance,

Are these legal downloads? The Mac will play MP3's. If it is not a legit MP3 there is a chance that the quality will stink. What kind of movies are you downloading? If these are legit we can help you - if they are not you are out of luck.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I believe they are, since my registration requires payments.

The songs used to work perfectly fine but it's only recently that I've encountered this difficulty.

Oh that's fine!

All of a sudden, after iTunes update, the voice is great. Strange.

Still got a problem with VLC, though
