Can't open normally viewed web pages

Newbie to this forum, not sure that I am on the right thread either!
I have a MacBook, and daily go to sites that all of a sudden aren't loading!

Once I have typed in the addy, I wait, then this is what comes on the screen:
Server not found





Firefox can't find the server at eBay | Electronics, Cars, Clothing, Collectibles and More Online Shopping.








* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
IANA — Example domains

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.


Firewall is not the problem, I can access these sites on my home pc, however that is not an apple. The pages I can't load are:

I used to have them on my toolbar. I have tried googling the sites then connecting from there, no difference.

I am using Firefox, and have tried Safari, no difference.

ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated!!
