- Powerbook G4 15"
Hi everyone, new to the forum but I need a little bit of help.
I unfortunately found out the hard way that Powerbook G4's are not waterproof and really don't like hot chocolate.
Without going into too much detail concerning gravity, I splashed the back of the laptop with said liquid... it seems to have splashed into the vents, the power, network and USB sockets and around the hinge. After cleaning up I was pleasantly suprised to find that the computer works fine - apart from a nasty sounding crackling and fizzing noise, then nothing...
...now, despite it working totally fine, there is no sound. I have dont the obvious such as checking volume levels, if somehow it had muted itself, etc, and nothing...
I'm guessing the speakers/sound card are kaput, but is it fixable?
Cheers
