Safari 4 progress bar back to 3

Just got my first mac... (13" pro)

Anyways im looking for the same bar as in 3 for my non-beta 4 in SL. Can any of you mac masters help me out ?

I know i could just run firefox and get the plugin. However, in the spirit of trying a new system id like to rock safari...


A huge high five to the one who gives me the bandaid!!

thanks the link about safari 4 looks like what i needed but when i input the suggested command, nothing happens...

help? command line is not really my thing


again im running snow leopard... which is OS X right....?

Frequently, if a command returns nothing (ie. you enter the command, hit enter and nothing appears to happen), the command executed successfully. It is usually only when something goes wrong that something is printed back.

Did harryb's suggestion work?

Nah, it doesn't work anymore. It doesn't return a error to std out either. I think the values simply aren't available to be manipulated anymore. Even sudo'ed or su'ed to root, the binary containing the values remains untouched. There was a bit about running "defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeInternalDebugMenu -bool YES" to re-enable changing the values, but it doesn't appear to work either.

Hmmm...despite all attempts to find a solution on the internet and look through Safari's plist files, I can't seem to find anything that will revert Safari's "loading bar". You might be out of luck here.
