If this (MuseScore | Free music composition and notation software) is the app you are talking about, it's free. But it's also a very specific kind of app that musicians would be able to appreciate and evaluate, so why not give it a shot yourself and provide feedback for others?

64 bit, Core 2 Duo or 32 bit, Core Duo

Core duo or Core 2 Duo

Where do I find this info on my iMac?

You don't. If the computer info in your profile is the computer we are talking about...then your computer has an "i3" cpu...not a core duo or core 2 duo cpu.

In the UK the app appears not to be free (£3.99) but I have downloaded the software to my iMac. I haven't yet installed it because there are 3 versions as follows:

OS X 10.6+ Intel (64-bit, Core 2 Duo and up)
(Download 1.2 for 10.6+ 32-bit Core Duo)
(Download 1.1 for 10.4+ Universal)

I have a 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3. Which version should I use?

Merged your other thread - the i3 would be considered a "Core 2 Duo and up" in the context related to that application.
