I have an 800 MHZ Power PC G4 that came with both System 9 and 10. I switched to 10 and have upgraded to 10.4.11 quite awhile ago but OS 9 and all of the appropriate programs are still on my hard drive.

Recently my Mac has slowed down in just about every action. I have tried a number of "quick fixes" that have been recommended to me and there hasn't been any improvement that I can see.

My question is, would getting rid of OS 9 help my situation. And if so how would I go about that without screwing something else up. Please bare in mind that I have been a MAC user since the 1984 but I am far from a techie.

Any suggestions?

Drag the OS9 system folder to the trash and empty it. It's that simple.

Probably won't change anything unless your HDD has less that 1Gb of space on it.
