I have a user at work that had the 1TB Seagate HDD die on him (doing the grey loading bar and then shutting down) last week. He has no TM backup but I was able to remove the HDD and pull all the files off in his user folder. Migrator did not work as it never picked up the HDD.

What I have done is copied the entire user folder to the users folder and then created his account and linked the account to the folder. The problem is, when you try and log in to that account it just hangs. It never logs in. I got to thinking about it and I remembered about the users UUID. Since it's a new install it would be giving him a new UUID.

My question, is there any way to pull the original UUID for his account from a file somewhere on the original disk if it will let me access it?

Thanks everyone
