This has never happened before and I'm slightly concerned. I was editing an Excel spreadsheet when suddenly my Macbook crashed. It started to reboot itself but then immediately went to a black screen and stayed there. I held down the power button to reboot it. The first reboot didn't work but the second one did.
Now I'm in OSX and the dock freezes whenever I right click one of the icons (IE: to remove from dock, quit program, etc.). The only way for me to 'unfreeze' the dock is to hit Mac + Space bar to open the spotlight search.
From what I can tell, this doesn't have to do with system resources or lack thereof. No app is taking up more CPU resources than the others.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. A screenshot has been attached to show the dock freezing, the type cursor in this forum was active when the screenshot was taken.
System specs:
Mac OSX 10.5.8
Macbook 1.1
2 GB RAM
200 GB 7200 RPM Drive
Thanks!
EDIT: A reboot seems to have remedied the situation.
