Print problem

I indexed an external hard drive and my Adobe Illustrator/Print feature became corrupted. I have an Epson 1400 Photo Printer. Would reinstalling the Printer help? Do I have to uninstall the print drivers first?

Mac Mini Core i7 2012 | White 2009 MacBook 2 Ghz | 733 Mhz G4 Quicksilver
Delete it from the printer dialogue and reinstall using the latest drivers from the Epson site
