When importing or burning cd's on itunes the cd will often disappear from the desktop and itunes . I have to restart my macbook to get the cd to show up on the desktop and itunes source list. I have a mac book pro approx 8 months old using mac os x ver 10.5.2. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the CD get burned or will the import complete, or does it look like a drive problem where the action doesn't finish? If that's the case, if you have Apple Care, give Apple a call and ask about your drive. If you don't have Apple care and the drive is bad, you're still covered under the 12 month warranty - take it to an Apple store or repair facility and have them take a look.
If the actions complete, it could be an OS problem and I'm not sure how to deal with that, other than perhaps re-installing it...
