Wiping Hard Drive Clean

Macbook Pro
My nephew is selling his Macbook and I did not know what to use to completely wipe his hard drive clean. I have used Wipedrive before, but on a windows machine. Is there anything out there that can be used to do this? I'd like something free if that is possible. I want something that will write and re-write data that will ensure that sensitive information is destroyed.

Gateway2000 P5-60. 66Mhz and 128 MB RAM.
If you have the OS X disc you can use that by popping it into the macbook and holding "C" on boot. From there select Utilities>Disk Utility>Erase. I believe under advanced it will let you select erase options
