a friend of mine who races in formula ford has asked me to take some pictures of him at a race in a few weeks time, so i was just wondering what kind of settings would be most suited to taking motorsport pictures in your opinions....

what kind of auto focusing mode should i use to get the subject in focus and make the bacground blurred? is that even possible?

cheers

Not sure what kind of camera you're using, but anything with a fast shutter speed is a must, you can blur the background in post.

if you can set the shutter speed you want something like 1/500 to freeze everything on corners and as high as 1/1000 on the straights depending on how fast they are going.

As for bluring in post processing....naa if you can do it with the camera much easier
this might help though
