Reinstall Software

How do i totally erase everything off my computer and reinstall the OS.? Im wanting to do this just because some things aren't working like they were before i installed this one program and it doesn't run as fast anymore. I just want to do this. Iv also downloaded stuff for work that has messed it up a little. How hard is it to do. Also can i choose which applications i can install. I dont need garage band or anything like that. I also have Microsoft office installed on my machine. I can just reinstall that when i get done reinstalling the OS right? Sorry for it being so long.

Put the restore or OS disk into your CD and start the process. Choose "clean install" from the options during restore.
