Your Mac's Specs
iMac Snow. 500 MHz DV Special Edition OS X.3.9 640 RAM 130GB
from one HD to another. i have a 130GB HD in my Power Mac and i wanna put it into my iMac. how do i transfer files from the 30GB to the 130?

connect both via Firewire and restart the host pressing T when you power it up.

This will start the host Mac in Target mode and the Guest Mac should appear on the Hosts screen so you can then commence to 'Migrate' the 30GB of files....

Do you have an apple store near by, I went there and said I wanted to connect two macs with firewire, and the guy went in the back and got me a cable. They did not have them on display, you do have to ask. Best Buy did not have the correct firewire cable (or at least mine didn't)
