Word Crashes for me

Word has been spontaneously crashing for me lately - anyone else had this problem? I've updated with the most recent from ms, I'm curious if the intel or 64 bit system is causing problems? I have a mac pro tower with a legal copy of office - not sure what could be going on (also, it just closes - no "windows is going to have to close this program" type of notice like I was used to on my pc). Any thoughts would be very appreciated.

Exact error is difficult to guess from your description. However you can solve most of the crash related problems by removing the corresponding .plist file.

1)Close all the Office applications.

2)Remove "com.microsoft.Word.plist" file from ~/Library/Preferences/.
