Hello I have 2006 15inc 2.2GHz core 2/2GB/128MB MACbook pro that I dropped and cracked the logic board. So what I would like to know is how to ID what board I need and where I can buy a used one. Brand new they are way to much. Also I would like to know if I can down grade the board to save $$$ thanks

...this site should be able to help you with the logic board info you need (model or part #). Buying a used one is probably not going to be easy or cheap...you might get lucky with e-Bay (you just got to be sure you're getting the correct logic board).
If you try buying a used logic board from an online retailer...BELIEVE me...they know how much new ones sell for...and thus you won't save much money.
As far as downgrading...whoa...even if you could...this is just going to make things a lot more complex. Just finding the correct replacement logic board is tough enough.
The last & most important thing to consider is...a 2006 MBP is not really worth as much as you may think. In fact...a new or used replacement logic board may cost as much as 75% or more of the value of this MBP...and it may even exceed it's value. Unless you can find a used logic board for a very good price...replacing the logic board on a 4+ year-old Apple laptop probably isn't a financially good idea.
I realized that you may not be able to purchase a new laptop...but if you were to spend $400-$600 replacing the logic board on your current MBP...that same money would go a long way in purchasing another used MBP.
Just some stuff to consider,
- Nick
