iBook power issues

ugh...
I have a ibook g3 600Mhz and a problem.

the problem is that when power is applied the battery will charge but the ibook will not turn on!!! no hard drive sound, no fan spinning, no nothing!!!
if someone could help that would be great because I have no experience with ibooks.

ok, some how I got it to boot!! but know it won't again.

It does sound like the DC in card is bad. I have a similar issue.

Could be any number of problems, but can't tell from what you've told us... Could be a power supply, hard drive, motherboard, CPU... what all? If it keeps booting, great, but if it doesn't, it might be time to replace it...

Do you have any Apple Care or any warranty coverage? I suspect not, but if you do, call Apple or go to an Apple Store and go from there. I suspect you have a major failure mode in progress.
